"I am a life-long Republican. I have actively participated at all levels of State and local government. I have worked hard serving this area in the state legislature for the past four years. Before returning in 1999 to South Carolina, my native state, I served six years in the House of Representatives and State Senate of North Carolina. I understand how to get things done at the state legislature level."
"I am a family man with a lovely wife of 27 years and four children - three daughters and a son. I am an independent businessman, a proud graduate of The Citadel and Associate Director of The Room At The Inn of the Lowcountry - a non-profit organization which serves homeless, single women both during their pregnancies and after the birth of their babies."
